IRIS Advantage
The IRIS™ System utilizes radio-frequency as the energy source for lesion creation, similar to other approved ablation devices. Additionally the method of delivering this energy under direct visualization may offer significant advantages to the safety and single treatment effectiveness of the procedure.
Potential advantages of the IRIS platform may include:
- Assessment of anatomy. Real-time, high-resolution, full-color assessment of anatomical considerations and critical landmarks.
- Visually guided energy delivery. Direct endocardial visualization allows the physician to assess catheter contact, monitor the ablation process, and guide energy delivery to the tissue based on visual feedback with the potential of reducing fluoroscopy exposure.
- Immediate confirmation of lesion contiguity. The IRIS Catheter allows physicians to visualize and facilitate precise placement of lesions intraoperatively to eliminate gaps and optimize lesion formation.
